Plants protected under the Michigan Christmas Greens and Wildflower Protection Law (1943, 1962)
Public Act 182 (1962)

The Christmas Greens and Wildflower Protection Act protects attractive plants from overzealous collectors and commercial exploitation, to prevent these plants from becoming rare.  This law prohibits collection of the plants listed below on someone's land without their permission.  If these plants occur on your land, you may do as you wish with them, except if they are also on the endangered species list.

The Endangered Species Act protects species which have already reached rarity status and require special recovery programs.  Some species are covered under both acts.
