Check in and register at the Dorm Lounge Building, pick up field trip schedules and directions (snacks provided) 6:00 pm Dinner in the Dining Hall 7:30 pm Brief orientation in the Dorm Lounge Building Saturday, August 296:30-8:30 am breakfast at UMBS Dining Hall 9:00 am Morning field trips. Gather in front of the Dorm Lounge Building for field trip directions 9:30 am Morning field trip departure 12:00 pm Return from morning field trips (except for all-day trips) 12:00 – 12:45 pm lunch in Dining Hall 12:45 pm Afternoon field trips. Gather in front of the Dorm Lounge Building for field trip directions, arrange carpooling 1:00 pm Afternoon field trip departure 4:00 – 5:00 pm Return from afternoon field trips 5:00 pm Reception (either in the Dorm Lounge or on the Volleyball court) 6:00 pm Dinner in Dining Hall 7:30 pm Evening Program in the Marian P. and David M. Gates Lecture Hall Ed Voss on Thomas Nuttall in Michigan 1810 Chuck Davis on Climate change at Walden Pond: The lesson Thoreau never intended Tony Reznicek & Knute Nadelhoffer on Ed Voss Sunday, August 306:30-8:30 am breakfast at UMBS Dining Hall and pick up lunches for all-day field trips 7:45 am Gather for the Bob-Lo Island trip 8:00 am Depart for the Bob-Lo Island ferry in Cheboygan 9:00 am All-day field trips (I & J). Gather in front of the Dorm Lounge Building for field trip directions, arrange carpooling 9:30 am All-day field trips departure 12:00 – 12:45 pm lunch in Dining Hall for those who chose not to go on the scheduled field trips. 5-6 pm Return from field trips 6:00 pm Dinner in Dining Hall. No after-dinner program planned. Those staying over can enjoy the ambiance of the UMBS and talking with other attendees. Some canoes and row boats will be available. Monday, August 316:30-8:00 am breakfast at UMBS Dining Hall Departures. Have a happy/safe trip home
