MAKING YOUR HOTEL RESERVATIONS at the HOLIDAY INN, TROY

I-75 at Rochester Rd. Exit 67

You will be making room reservations on your own.  It is recommended that you call the Troy Holiday Inn directly at (248) 689-7500.  Do NOT use the 800 Holiday Inn reservation number.  Identify yourself as attending the Michigan Botanical Club's Spring Foray to be eligible for the special rate of $59 per room (single or double) per night, plus 3.5 % tax.  A limited number of cots are available for $10 per night.  If you wish to share a room to further reduce costs, make your roommate plans first and provide the hotel with the names of those sharing the room with you.  The MBC-SEC registrar will maintain a list of people who wish a roommate if you need to find someone.  The Holiday Inn's deadline for room reservations is May 13, 2005.

The maps below indicate the location of the Holiday Inn, Troy and the local roads.  Registration will take place in the lobby.  Evening programs and meals will take place in the ballroom on the ground floor.  There is a restaurant and lounge in the hotel as well as a fitness center, outdoor pool and a very extensive parking area useful for staging field trips.

WHAT TO BRING

Although southeastern Michigan includes some of the most populated counties in the state, we will be visiting some relatively wild places; swamps, fens, marshes, and forests, so leave your city clothes at home and be prepared with boots, insect repellent, sun screen, etc.

For those registered on the Walpole Island Trip, please bring your driver's license AND a passport or birth certificate.  Canada requires these for crossing the border.

MAKING RESERVATIONS FOR ATTENDING THE 2005 SPRING FORAY

Please fill out both sides of the registration form completely and return it by the deadline of May 6, 2005.  There will be no refunds given after May 13.  We have set a limit on registrations of 150 people due to the need to limit numbers on the field trips, some of which will be going into fragile areas.  Therefore, we will be accepting registrations in the order that they are received until we reach our limit.  Current MBC members in good standing will have first priority in their foray registration and field trip assignments.  All evening programs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings will be held at the Holiday Inn and will be free and open to the public.  A variety of day and weekend registration and meal packages are available, including children's prices and a discounted rate for college students.

Your registration form and payment should be mailed to:
