Native Seed Collection

At the February meeting Ken Hiser mentioned the program that Chicago Botanic Garden has for hiring contract botanists to collect seeds (primarily tallgrass prairie, but many other species too).  According to Ken:  “It's fairly easy to get signed on as a collector, and it seems to me like it would be a nice way for many people to earn extra cash and maybe also get novice botanists (children, students...) involved in plant conservation work.  And I think many of the contractors get some pretty substantial income out of this... the more you collect, the more they pay per collection!”
