2008 programs

  • Tuesday, March 4, 2008. 7:30 p.m. Sarah Adams, who is in charge of “Aquatics” at Preuss Animals, Lansing, MI. will be speaking on emergent aquatic plants for aquariums.

 

  • Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. Greenhouse director John Mugg will give the Red Cedar Chapter (RCC) of the Michigan Botanical Club (MBC) a guided tour through the Department of Plant Biology teaching greenhouses.  MEET AT the greenhouse’s South entrance. The plants we will see include those John has collected from his many travels through North, central and South America. THESE greenhouses are located just northwest of our regular meeting place in the natural Sciences building on the MSU campus.

Field Trips

  • Sunday, April 20, 2008  at 1:30 PM.  Come welcome this years crop of spring wildflowers at our first field trip for 2008 will be in conjunction with the Sierra Club at Lansing’s Scott Woods.  (You may be aware that the south end of these wood connect to the north end of Lansing’s Hawk Island Park.)   The park may be accessed by driving 4 blocks East of Pennsylvania (or go West of Aurelius) on Mt. Hope Road, then turn South on Clifton Street.  We'll meet at the parking lot at the South end of Clifton Street. Scott Woods is just East of Ingham Regional Medical Center’s Pennsylvania Campus.

     

General Information About Meetings

  • Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings which are held on the first Tuesday of the month, September-May.
  • Meetings start at 7:30 pm and are held in 244, Natural Science Bldg., Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI.
