and Extension specialist will be speaking on "The Natural Christmas Tree Industry:
Seeds to Sales".
Tuesday, January 7, 2003. Roy
and Marlene Wesselman will speak on "The
Galapagos: A Natural Selection"
Tuesday, February 4, 2003. Dr.
Trock will present "You Only Thought You Knew My
Name: Why Plant Names Change: a Case Study in the genus Senecio".
Afterwards she will also demonstrate a brief overview of
proper preparation, care and handling of collected plant
specimens as part of her effort to enlist herbarium
volunteers.
Tuesday, March 4, 2003. Doug
Pearsall, the Director of Conservation Science for the
Michigan Chapter of the Nature Conservancy will
discuss current Nature Conservancy projects in the Great
Lakes and suggest concrete ways we can join them in
their efforts.
Tuesday, April 1, 2003. Our
speaker will be Dr. Woody Ehrle, an award winning
Western Michigan Univ. Biology prof. [emeritus] and
long-time MBC member. From his position as the Michigan
"Big Tree" program coordinator, he will present
"An Update on Michigan's Big Trees".
